Rights and Freedoms Advocate is supporting representation for a student who has spoken out at his post-secondary institution in order to encourage civil discourse on racial matters.

The student, who remains unnamed at this time to protect him from jeopardy, chose to speak up on his campus when a discussion on racial issues came up and conflict ensued.
Instead, he spoke out to encourage compassionate and reasonable discussion, where both sides could engage in debate and discussion in a kind, non-threatening, and civil manner.
However, instead of civil debate occurring, he is now faced with the threat of non-academic misconduct, simply because he encouraged discussion.
